When sunlight catches an ordinary object just so, or when a special color resonates with my soul – that’s what inspires me. Those unexpected moments that reach out and grab your attention and that demand to be painted! I also enjoy painting pet portraits that attempt to capture each pet’s unique personality.
I am a (mostly) retired veterinarian and never tire of being around our animal buddies. My husband and I live in beautiful Olalla, Washington, with our dog, Charley. In addition to painting, I love to spend time hiking, kayaking and gardening in our glorious Pacific Northwest (and sometimes playing the ukulele or the banjo!)
I am a self-taught artist and paint on Arches 140 pound cold press watercolor paper, using a variety of professional grade transparent watercolors to achieve rich, vibrant watercolor paintings that glow with color and light.
For more information about my original watercolor paintings and fine art reproductions, or for more information about me, check out my website. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter or join my Facebook page – I promise that I only send emails out occasionally!
